Samsung SH100: World’s Most Social Camera?

First previewed at Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in January and just launched in Malaysia, the Samsung SH100 compact camera may just be the world’s most ‘social’ camera yet. The innovative camera sports a 14.2 megapixel CCD, offering 5x digital zoom, facial recognition and a touchscreen interface. The built-in Wi-Fi and GPS chip enables easy sharing and geo-tagging of photos and videos. Wi-Fi enables you to upload instantly to social networking sites like Facebook, Picasa or Photo Bucket, or email them to individual email addresses straight from the camera.

You can also record HD video and share your favorite moments over sites such as YouTube™. Pretty nifty. Certainly handy during those nights in the club! Perfect tool for camwhoring too! The built-in WiFi can also backup your images to your PC, and also view your images and videos on your HDTV via DLNA.

What’s really cool is that you can use Wi-Fi to connect to your Android® powered Galaxy S™ smartphone, and view what you are about to shoot in real time.

The SH100 is set to be Samsung’s leading fully connected camera in 2011, building on the success of the company’s wirelessly connected cameras to date. The SH100 retails at RM749. I’ve just been passed a review unit, so watch this space for an in-depth review!
