Social communication application WeChat has announced that it has just surpassed the 70 million registered user accounts milestone. The mobile app is the most downloaded app in India, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines.

To further boost its popularity, WeChat unveiled a new global campaign featuring football superstar Lionel Messi. The 2009 FIFA Ballon D’or (World Player of the Year) recipient joins a glittering cast of famous musicians, artists, fashion icons and VIPs.

Football fans should be delighted to be able to connect with their favourite football icon Messi. Add WeChat ID: MessiOfficial for videos, voice messages and photos from the man himself.

A global TV commercial featuring Lionel Messi with the slogan “We Love. We Share. WeChat” has been launched, showcasing how Messi connects with people he cares for and loves on WeChat.
