China smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled its latest flagship device last month. Subsequently, the first batch of 100,000 Mi3 smartphones were snapped up in 86 seconds after they were released earlier today.

Xiaomi has become popular thanks to its competitively-priced products and strong emphasis on user feedback.

The Xiaomi Mi3 features the world’s first quad-core 1.8Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with a 72 Geforce GPU. The flagship device packs a 5-inch Full HD IPS display (16:9) pushing out a pixel density of 441PPI. If not impressive enough, the Mi-3 also features a 13MP main camera with a Sony Exmor sensor (f/2.2) and a wide angle 28mm lens with dual LED flash. The Mi3 also comes with a whopping 3,050mAh battery.

The 16GB Xiaomi Mi-3 sells for CNY1999 (US$327) and the 64GB version goes for CNY2499 (US$410).

Xiaomi’s previous phones also regularly sold out fast when released in batches. In August, 100,000 units of its lowest-priced phone the Hongmi were also snapped up in 90 seconds flat.

The China maker is said to have increased its sales target for this year to 20 million units of smartphones, up from the previous target of 15 million.
